Artist Residency Programme

Matthew de Kersaint Giraudeau will be making work about the regeneration of Liverpool, W.G Sebald and donkeys.
On Monday the 9th August there will be a presentation of the work he has completed on his residency, including videos, drawing, and a live performance lecture with a poor quality Powerpoint presentation.

During my residency at The Royal Standard I am working towards some ideas for films, performances and sculpture, drawing from research into the development of the Waterfront in Liverpool, with a particular interest in the Pier Head Ferry Terminal, which won the 'Carbuncle Cup' in 2009, and the high number of abandoned, 'tinned up' houses in the city. I am comparing my interest in the idea of an architecture of failure with my creative practice, and the unique, temporary form of dwelling which a residency offers.
